Guess what dropped today?

I spent the last year of my life working on Dead Space 2 and today it came out. It is sitting comfortably at a 91 on metacritic, and the good reviews keep rolling in.

this was inspired by a recent trip to nova scotia to shoot a short film with the Duplex crew. I had a little extra time this weekend and developed one of my storyboards.

Deadspace 2 is in its final days and will be released on jan 25 2011, hopefully i can share some of the work after that.

Some lighting studies to get ready for another week. I have been on a new title at EA for the past few months and the lighting is mostly through practicals and its art direction is realism, like most big next gen AAA titles... So i thought i would do some organic lighting studies with a little of that animation styles i love so much. very relaxing.

On another note; i will be making my way back to Vancouver in May for the premiere of AVA, directed by my greatest friend Lucas Wareing. Then its down to LA with my boy, the ultra talented Chayse Irvin (http://chayseirvin.com/). Chayse and i worked on several short films while i was in Vancouver, we made a good team, Chayse as the Director of Photography and myself as the Production Designer.

After LA i will be getting back to my work at EA Montreal on the above mentioned project, hopefully by then i will get to tell everyone what it is, and i will begin working on my first Montreal based short film with new collaborator Dave Pawsey and the rest of the Duplex crew (http://www.theduplex.tv/)

i finally got around to setting up my home studio and felt that this needed some colour, the b&w is below. when i started this one it was the summer during the final days of production for Need For Speed Nitro, which comes out on tuesday, now it's fall and the colours of montreal inspired the final colour palette.

I recently graduated and since i have moved on from my work as a storyboard artist for the animated series Viva Pinata and i am currently working with EA blackbox as a concept artist for one of their hit racing titles. As well, i am just about to complete a series illustrations for stainless steel water bottles soon to be available for purchase at your local MEC, so pick one up if you like (byers, there is one that is just for you). i will post illustrations asap
